How To Do A Straight Arm Plank

Instructional Video

Written Instructions

  1. Lay face down on the floor with your palms on the floor, directly under your shoulders so your arms are fully extended.
  2. Come up onto your toes so that your body is now in a straight line from head to toe.
  3. Focus on pulling your belly button towards your spine as you hold this position for as long as possible.
  4. Keep your bum down and try to avoid your chest collapsing so that your shoulders, hips and feet all follow a straight path.

Regression

Struggling with this? Try by holding this position with your hands resting on a raised surface. Make sure your hands are directly under your shoulders and your body still follows a straight line.

Progression

Looking for more of a flamin' challenge? Try doing shoulder taps, adding these into this movement can really help you get your sweat on.
